THE ACCIDENT
Monday March 2nd I was involed in a three car fatal accident. I can not tell you how horrible this accident was for me. Emotionally, I can not get the face of the lady who died out of my mind. I tried to get to her to perhaps pull her from the car, but she was already dead when I got to her side of the car.
The Accident happened as I was heading to Atwater to visit one of my students work sites. I was doing 55 along with the other cars around me. I saw up ahead a Camaro going into a spin and he was heading for the center lane of the 4 lane highway. I thought that if I moved to the right hand lane I would miss colliding with him. Unfortunately he was doing 70 MPH and he could not slow his spin. The Camaro spun out of control and hit the Camry in front and the the right of me. He hit them so hard his Camaro blew apart. It was literally raining car parts and glass. I then, without control flew into the Camry. The impact was so hard! So violent! After we hit, the Camry stopped on the shoulder of the roadway. I eventually stopped about three car lengths ahead of them. I was shocked to find that I was not seriously injured and could get out of my car. I ran to the Camry and tried to wake the driver. He was a 72 yr old man who was completely lodged in his car by the car door. I then saw there was a passenger in his car. I ran to her side of the car thinking I could get her out. To my horror she was not alive and I then got very ill. How could I walk away and this lady was dead? the images ofter come to me when I close my eyes. I have prayed for her and her husband everyday and for the young man who was responsible for the death of another person.
I know this young man did not wake up that morning and thinking he would go out an kill someone with his car. He arose that morning like any other day and when about his business. He was on his way to the college for classes. What he is responsible for that morning is his decision to drive much to fast on a road that was heavily traveled, under wet conditions.
I just want us to remember to be careful, do not drive like you are some skilled race car driver. Consider the people around you . I have been on the freeway many times and had some young looking kid fly by me like I was standing still. I usually cuss at them....now I think I will pray for them...and ask God to protect others that might come in contact with that young inexperienced driver.
Also remember a vehicle is a 2000lb loaded weapon! and it has the potential to kill.
I am so happy that God spared me from a serious injury or even death. One more thought; I am so glad I was not on my cell phone, or playing with the CD player or radio. Had I been I know I would feel some shared responsibility for the accident. As it is, I know I did whatever was humanly possible to avoid this accident.

BE WARNED- THE JACK ATTACK!
I LEFT MY LAPTOP OPEN AND ON WHILE I MET A FREIND FOR BREAKFAST LAST SATURDAY. WHEN I RETURNED HOME I FOUND MY CAT 'JACK' SLEEPING ON MY KEYBOARD. AFTER GETTING HIM OFF, MY LAPTOP WOULD NOT BOOT UP. I HAD A BLACK SCREEN AND OF COURSE I IMMEDIATLEY FREAKED OUT.
AFTER A VISIT TO BEST BUY (THEY GAVE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE), AND THEN TO A LOCAL BUSINESS IN TOWN WHO EMPLOYS SOME GREAT HONEST PEOPLE; I FOUND OUT THAT THE CAT FRIED MY PC. THE HEAT OF HIM LYING ON THE KEYBOARD FRIED THE MOTHER-BOARD...WHATEVER THAT IS. I DO KNOW IT MEANS THAT THE LAPTOP IS NOW VIRTUALLY JUNK! CRAP! MY BEAUTIFUL, MUCH LOVED TOSHIBA WAS NOW DEAD. I AM NOW USING A NEW DELL AND SO FAR SO GOOD. I LIKE IT VERY MUCH.
I WANT YOU TO BE WARNED THAT YOU NEED TO KEEP THE KITTIES OFF YOUR LAPTOP.
